Christening Photography Our Most Holy Redeemer, Chelsea, London

The unusual scenario of photographing two quite separate family occasions over a weekend at the same London church  - Our Most Holy Redeemer & St Thomas More, Cheyne Row, Chelsea. 

On Sunday it was Emma and Christian’s fourth child’s Christening day and the hottest June since the summer of 1976 - which I remember well as a 10-year-old with its seemingly endless days of floating around in the sultry heat of rural England not knowing what to do.

Not the best conditions for dressing a drowsy baby in the family heirloom christening gown and holding out for happy and wide awake at the ceremony. However, in the event, this little boy did very well and I think the cool refreshing water on his head at the moment of baptism was most definitely an act of God!

However, by the time it was all over and we arrived at the reception, he was most definitely ready for a long snooze in the shade, and no amount of high antics and noise from the ramble of siblings and cousins around him was going to wake him from his post-baptism nap.

A beautiful family event filled with emotion and joy.
